Why Wool?

Wool is one of the highest performing natural fibres. Wool has elasticity, is anti static, naturally flame retardant, has excellent abrasion resistance and acts as an air purtifier to remove VOCs from the atmosphere. Wool is a renewable fibre choice.

The durability of wool ensures longevity of upholstery resulting in a greater lifespan. Wool is also one of the most easily recycled fibres and at the end of it’s life wool is fully biodegradable. Wool is the perfect choice when quality and performance are important for your interior, without the impact on the environment.

Warwick Fabrics has two main types of wool fabrics: new wool and recycled wool.

New Wool

New wool is virgin wool that has not been processed or woven before.  Delivering an exceptionally clean and durable product.

New Zealand wool is internationally renowned for its quality.

Our supplier is accredited with the Enviro Mark Diamond label which guarantees their products meet strict health and environmental guidelines covering all aspects of the manufacturing process.

Recycled Wool

Recycled wool is produced from recycling wool fibres from used clothing or other wool textiles. The wool is processed and re-spun into yarn, then woven into a new fabric.

Recycled wool is one of the most certifiably sustainable and traceable fibres in the world. This process also reduces the amount of waste, resources, and energy that are required to make virgin wool. Our products Augustus and Octavius are both made from at least 70% recycled wool from our Cardato Prato certified supplier in Italy.

The supplier has measured the environmental impact of its entire production cycle taking into account three aspects: water, energy and CO2 consumption levels.
