Warwick Fabric Trends Forecast 2023
Explore the upcoming Warwick Fabrics Trends for 2023
As 2023 begins, we’re excited to move into the new year with fresh ideas, themes, and most of all, trends!
Introducing the Warwick Fabrics Trend Forecast, we bring you four distinct trends for 2023 that offer varying styles; however, each share an underlying theme: a sense of nostalgia and familiarity.
Unlike last year, our trends for next year can be interchangeable, allowing them to be interpreted and built to suit any person’s taste and style. It’s more about curation rather than specific direction — embracing what comforts you, what you like, and what speaks to you. It's also about being conscious in what you choose to put in a space where every detail has thought behind it, and every piece is special and has purpose, making this a curated and considered design.
We hope these four stylish trends offer some inspiration and ways to get creative when it comes to interior design in 2023.

NEW EURO
Traditional, European style meets Parisian sophistication with our New Euro trend. From tapestry florals, to beautiful, heavenly soft velvets, New Euro brings a subtle theatrical element that will create impactful spaces with a modern twist. Using highly decorative textiles to enhance a space, this trend is all about the detail and is bound to offer a timeless aesthetic that is classic, yet elegant.
Featuring high and low sheen velvets found in our Duke and Casimir ranges, smooth, warm leathers or leather looks in Pelle, dry, relaxed finishes in Aurelius and Tesoro, and tranquil, summery sheers in Bronte, New Euro encourages playing around with textures to create a soft and unique style. Incorporating patterned velvets such as Vivaldi will bring an alluring charm and lavish feel and can be paired with a rich, silky texture — like Emporium — for extra elegance. Tapestry designs (Soumakh) are also another great option to pair with this trend for an eclectic look.
Tying in with its traditional theme, New Euro brings a captivating colour story of navy, berry, and green where warm nectar and ochre tones ground the palette overall. These timeless hues can be used together or separately and can be enhanced with accents such as soft gold or brass and oak wood, bringing this sophisticated look to life.
New Euro brings a curated approach with simple considered design balances, decorative finishes and sculpted furniture. Subtle theatrical elements seen in the application of fringing, dramatic drapes, and sculptured furniture shapes will turn an interior into a place of functional art. Value of craftsmanship for a simple considered design with attention to finishes and details are also important to achieve this style.

PRIMITIVE
Get back in touch with our roots with Primitive. With a rising interest in outdoors and rural living, our Primitive trend celebrates elements that connect us: to nature, community, and heritage. Bringing earthy tones and textures for a natural aesthetic, this trend will create spaces that provide a sense of calm, joy, comfort, and familiarity — those you would experience in nature.
Purposely imperfect, Primitive embraces fabrics that are textured with minimal colour for an organic look. From stonewashed or washed finishes found in Chambray, dry textures in Olympia and Emery, and warm, felted, and fuzzy appearances in Fabio and Dolly, this trend is about layering and keeping in touch with our environment — one you want to nest within.
Featuring earthy neutrals, ivory, taupe, linen, brown, and warm greys such as charcoal, our Primitive trend focuses on simple tonal colours mixed with varying textures to create visual interest and added dimension. When combined with stone or rock accents, matte black or brass metals, rope detailing, matte ceramics, chalky finishes, and woven or wooden elements, this theme will bring the beauty of the outdoors to the comfort of your own indoor living space.

RETRO REFLECT
Wind back in time and reminisce in nostalgia with Retro Reflect. Appreciating designs of the past, this trend brings a familiar, almost vintage feel with a modern interpretation. Featuring colour blocking techniques, warm wood tones, tailored furniture pieces, leather or faux leather, and interlaced geometric shapes, Retro Reflect will create sophisticated looks, as well as groovy, retro styles.
Layered fabric is key with this trend. From classic herringbone patterns that can be found in our Airlie range, to geometric, checkboard designs like Tilba or circular shapes in Esperance, these fabrics can be paired with refined bouclé, matte velvet, and relaxed linens for an aesthetic that offers soft comfort and visual interest due to its variety of mixed textures and intricate finishes.
With a nostalgic 70s inspired palette, Retro Reflect combines grounding browns — the hero colour of this story — with warm, burnished oranges, ochres, and tan, alongside complementary olives, warm neutrals, light grey, and cool taupes for a classic style. Incorporating walnut wood, brushed silver or nickel, fluted or textured glass, fine detailing such as buttons and ties, and hard surface accents against contrasting fabrics is perfect for this theme, bringing a tailored look with a moody feel and subtle retro, 70s vibe.

SENSESCAPE
Escape into a colourful, fantastical dream with Sensescape. Featuring high impact and captivating patterns that inspire creativity, our Sensescape trend celebrates and encourages playfulness, expression, experimentation, and personal identity. Perfect for bringing an immersive and sensory experience, this trend will create soothing and radiant environments that evoke a sense of calm, tranquility, and escapism.
Unlike last year’s Futurity trend, Sensescape is softer in aesthetic and not as bold and daring. Using abstract geometrics and expressive florals such as our Harlowe collection, emotive sheers with texture and a lustrous sheen, quilting, sleek finishes, and small-scale pattern with a digital appearance, this trend is all about stimulating the senses of touch and visual appeal.
Sensescape’s palette is colourful, but not overbearing. It’s bright, fun, and playful — one that brings ease, joy, and dreamy moods. Offering different levels of tones to create harmony and layers, deep hues of teal, navy, and berry contrast with soft, crisp blues, white, sage, and cool greys for a dream-like aesthetic. Warm oranges, rose, and chartreuse shades also help balance this palette, providing a fun variety of colour to play with. Balancing these tones is key for this style where mixing bright and bold hues with pastels allows spaces to be livable, yet draws inspiration from the digital realm.
Pairing beautifully with this trend, ombre finishes, coloured glass, brushed nickel, colourful travertine and perforated metals combined with colour blocking techniques, rounded accentuated shapes with a surrealist look, and plush texture will transform your space into a wonderous wonderland — bringing this dreamy vision to reality.
