Introducing the new Warwick Fabric Trends Forecast for 2022

Warwick Fabric NZ Trends Forecast 2022

We are so excited to bring our annual interior forecast to life with themes that encompass the need to feel safe, the love of our land, our desire to travel and escapism into the future. These four distinct trends offer a variety of ways to get creative and stylish when it comes to interior design in 2022.

COCOON

The Cocoon Trend is all about texture. From soft, plush and cuddly surfaces, to beautiful, serene sheers that softly filter light, Cocoon consists of a theme that is mineral in both appearance and colour. Minimal yet feeling comfortably connective, this trend is bound to create spaces that are cosy and peaceful — the perfect, heavenly sanctuary to nest in.

With soft boucle found in Fabio and Ovis, to a plush quilted fabric in Benito, our fabric collection features a range of organic textured textiles that can be layered to achieve this atmospheric interior you can relax in.

Although neutral in tone, the Cocoon colour palette can be enhanced with the use of different types of textures, such as patina, natural woods, stone, and marble. Cocoon is elegant and sophisticated, yet it brings a warm and homely mood to a space.

TERRAIN

From rich greens, to sunburnt oranges and soft dusk tones, Terrain brings a sense of nostalgia and reminiscence of places or things we have visited or seen in our childhood. Whether it’s the dry sand and cool, blue water of the coast, the warm, golden hues of wheat in the countryside, the beautiful pink and orange sunsets, or the fresh, natural greens of the rainforest, Terrain brings all of these elements to its design to feature and relive in any space.

Terrain is a unique yet versatile style that embraces nature and celebrates its beauty in design. It surrounds itself with feelings of quality investment pieces, unique handmade finishes and striking sentimental features.

Inspired by Australian landscapes, the Terrain Trend is all about nature and its natural elements, drier finishes, and rich, earthy colours. Terrain includes beautiful patterns of organic geometrics as well as foliage and flora found in the likes of Nelma. These timeless hints of nature perfectly pair with rustic textures and organic vein detail— for a representation of Australia and its roots.

WAYFARER

The Wayfarer Trend is inspired by the real desire to travel and escaping the reality of the last 24 months. A worldly, eclectic theme with a refined bohemian feel, this trend is the new vintage with rich, dark and moody colours, as well as historic patterns.

A refined bohemian style, Wayfarer features pattern that is historic in its nature and design, whether it's handmade, block printed, mark making, or botanical illustrations — it is one of a kind. Unique in appearance, the intense and deeply saturated colours of indigo, ochre and russet are paired back with wood, brass and raw finishes for a natural, vintage aesthetic.

With a mixture of soft and dry textures, Wayfarer brings a sense of nostalgia, as well as a desire to visit or revisit those places with intriguing architecture and distinct designs. Our Koppal, Aruba and Zanzibar collections are great options to bring this aesthetic into a home and transform an interior into one inspired by vintage styles and culture — a getaway within your own space.

FUTURITY

The Futurity Trend is escapism taken in a new direction — a futuristic dreamscape. Described as a new era of design, Futurity is edgy, extreme and a little quirky. Featuring textures of mesh, transparencies, quilting and sheers, this trend embraces originality and unites differences to create looks that are spectacular and captivating.

From striking geometric patterns found in Plaza, to bold stand-out patterns in Airlie, Futurity is a trend that brings a statement — the bolder, the better. While its palette consists of strong and vibrant hues, it pairs with pastels and metallic finishes to create an eclectic mix of colour and contrast.

The Futurity Trend celebrates and encourages creativity. While its vivid and daring nature might be a lot for some, Futurity is incredibly versatile when designing an interior — there are no rules, only your imagination.
