OUTDOOR IDEAS — A WHITEWASH MEDITERRANEAN STYLE GARDEN

With the weather finally warming up, it’s the perfect time to get out into the garden! Outside entertaining is a key part of summer — whether it’s having a delicious barbeque with family, a fun pool party, or just enjoying a warm summer’s night with friends and loved ones, embracing the outdoors is a must this season. We have some simple ways in which you can update or revamp your outdoor space that will be sure to ‘wow’ your guests and create a beautiful space you’ll never want to leave.

A popular trend we see coming through is a whitewashed Mediterranean style garden. This style of outdoor living space has grown in popularity as we pine for our overseas summer trips. Embodying the relaxed nature of a seaside getaway, this style is a great way to clean up and polish our outdoor spaces with its clean lines, subtle curves, rendered and smooth finishes, and natural linen in sun-bleached tones. It’s a style that is both timeless and adaptable.

To achieve this look, we recommend our Lomani outdoor fabric — it’s the perfect choice when it comes to updating those tired seating cushions that are in need of a fresh makeover. We find choosing a plain but textured fabric is ideal for large seating areas as it adds dimension and brings a Hamptons look.

Sticking with a core neutral palette will also help add versatility to your design and allow you to play around with other seasonal accessories such as tableware or even scatter cushions. Try pairing Lomani with our Mallacoota wide stripe fabric for a complete weather-proof finish, or even the Weave Home Vito cushion which is perfect for summer and comes in a variety of gorgeous sun-bleached colours — be sure to bring these cushions inside once you’ve finished entertaining to protect them from the harsh rays of the sun or rain from a sudden storm.

This look also ties in with our Cocoon Trend — a style that is minimal, yet cosy and peaceful — a perfect, heavenly sanctuary.

INDOOR IDEAS — A STATEMENT BEDHEAD FOR ADDED COMFORT

Statement headboards are back in style — and in a big way! They are a great and inexpensive way to update your bedroom — or guest bedroom — and bring some colour and pattern into the space. Whether you choose to keep the style simple or decorative, headboards are the obvious focal point in a bedroom, making it the perfect and easiest way to create a dramatic statement.

Bedheads are also a simple way of adding a sense of personality into the room without the commitment of a permanent feature. We find exploring unexpected shapes, colours and textures with something so basic and familiar is a fun, creative and unique way to express and complement your interior style.

For a sophisticated, luxe look, we recommend using lush fabrics such as velvet. Velvet is a versatile fabric and can be found in a variety of finishes — from printed, to patterned or quilted. Our Lovely, Essence and Plaza fabrics are great options to achieve a more striking, maximalist look.

Alternatively, simple textures — particularly boucle fabrics such as Ovis and Fabio — are a popular choice, especially when used on a unique shaped board. Quilted finishes like Clique are also a great option to add dimension and padding for extra comfort to your statement bedroom update.

For more ideas, our Futurity Trend is bound to give you some ideas that are edgy, creative and a little quirky.

If you’re not redecorating your own bedroom space over the holiday period but you’re expecting friends or family to stay over, we recommend thinking about the room they will be staying in and ways you can make it that bit more special. Whether it’s including soft furnishings such as luxe cushions and pillows, airing out the room with the fresh summer breeze, a scented vanilla candle for the night, spare phone charges or luxurious sheets to slip underneath, your guests will appreciate the extra effort and little treats you’ve put in to making them feel more at home.

CAVAVAN IDEAS — TAKING HOME ON THE ROAD

Thinking about a summer gateway? What about your very own stylish caravan? We’ve seen a lot of these gorgeous, renovated caravans lately that are the perfect way to take home on the road!

Beautifully curated and complete with all of the comforts of home, building or renovating your own van for those fun, summer trips — or even guest house — sounds like a dream project. Stationary or mobile, caravans make the perfect interior project for anyone after a small renovating challenge or a chance to explore their interior style.

Simple, upholstered banquet seating, accompanied with sheer window treatments to beat that strong Southern Hemisphere sun, are just some ways you can update your existing camper. As you adventure around in your newly renovated van, it is important to consider the performance of the fabric you select and make sure you have selected ones that will perform well through all of those summer trips you have planned.

Some of our collections such as Copeland, Noyack or Corey would be perfect for updating the interior seating areas — each collection also has a wide variety of colours to choose from to achieve your desired theme. Alternatively, adding some fun pattern and colour into your new project with printed ranges like Hattie or Ambrosia will bring a sense of liveliness to the space.

Be sure to also think about your window treatment. Adding sheers, such as Sicily or Nelma, soften the interior and allows light to still filter through into your van while giving you some protection from the harsh summer sun — it also provides privacy from your other camping neighbours. Corsica and Artemis are two other great alternatives if you’re wanting to add texture to the space. If you’re renting a caravan this summer, we recommend bringing your own sheers and cushions to make your experience a bit more comfortable and homely.

For a unique yet versatile style, our Terrain Trend is perfect for this look as it embraces nature and celebrates its beauty in design.
