Care Labels

Various factors determine the life expectancy of your fabric: colour, weight, fibre content etc. Due to these variables, some fabrics may require specific cleaning solutions or procedures.

By law, all furnishing fabrics must be provided with a Fabric Care Label to advise correct and suitable care instructions for your specific fabric. Your Care Label will be located on the furniture by a hang-tag or label sewn under the seat cushion or flounce or given to you by your furniture retailer.

Always refer to your Fabric Care Label before attempting ANY cleaning.

General care and information
When arranging your furniture, avoid direct sunlight, as prolonged exposure can cause colours to fade in furnishing fabrics. Care should also be taken to avoid furniture touching external walls or radiators, as this could cause problems of moisture build-up and/or scorching damage.

Take care to prevent sharp objects (e.g. children’s sandal buckles, pets’ claws) from coming into contact with your furniture, as this may cause snagging or tearing of the fabric. Vacuum regularly (weekly) using low suction. Rotate reversible cushions regularly. Pilling: Can occur occasionally as a result of normal daily wear and should not be considered as a fault. Fibre pills can be removed by a battery operated pilling tool available from most haberdashery stores.

Washing instructions
Use a gentle cycle and do not wash the fabric at a temperature exceeding 40°C. Use a washing agent suitable for colour retention such as Drive Colour, Dreft or Persil Colour. If using a tumble dryer, use a cool setting. If covers are too bulky for your machine we recommend professional washing by your local laundry. Ironing should not be necessary, but if required iron on the reverse side using a light steam. Drycleaning is possible if preferred but some colour variation may occur if cushions are cleaned separately from the main covers.
Annual professional cleaning recommended.

Warning
Do not use washing agents containing any optical brightener, as this may effect colour, particularly if seat cushions and main covers are not washed at the same time. Do not mix different colours or fabrics in the wash. Do not squeeze or wring by hand. Do not dry in direct sunlight as this may accelerate colour loss. Do not apply detergent directly to covers when washing. Do not tumble dry with hot setting. Note: Some minor colour change may occur in the initial washing stages. We recommend laundering in complete cover sets to ensure colour variation between seat cushions and main covers does not occur. Detailed care instructions are included on the care label attached to your furniture.
